Is Facebook Jobs gone? Facebook made an announcement in December 2021 that it planned to phase out its free Facebook Jobs feature that started in 2017 and never officially exited its Beta phase. While Facebook said that after February 2022 only people in the US and Canada using a desktop would be able to access and use Facebook Jobs to some extent, it seems that most of its power is gone. With “Jobs” removed from Facebook Marketplace on mobile and desktop, candidates have no way to search for jobs using Facebook. The Facebook.com/Jobs URL draws an error now (go ahead and click to see for yourself). So what’s left?
Facebook Jobs – Minimal Features Left
- Pro: Most Facebook business pages in the United States can still create a job post (at least right now) as they have done in the past.
- Con: Unfortunately, candidates can no longer search for jobs on Facebook.
- Con: The only way to see or access these job posts is through the Facebook page itself OR if you create a paid ad or boosted post from the job posting.
- Pro: Someone who sees your paid ad or comes across your job listing on your Facebook page can still hit the “apply” button, and can apply through Facebook as they have in the past.
What to Do Instead?
Fortunately, it’s still very important to post your jobs on your Facebook page for people to find and Google to possibly index. For many businesses, Facebook hiring ads are a great option. As with all things, it’s important not to put all your hiring eggs in one Facebook basket. There are TONS more places to list your job opening, as well as a plethora of other things you should be doing to aid your hiring efforts. I created a free guide to help you with your hiring efforts which you can request here.
