Recently we (the team at Vivid Image) have had the pleasure of getting to know James McCracken. James is the head of Marketing and Technology at McCracken Marketing. While getting to know James we have discovered that he has a passion for working with small and independent business and he has a real passion for working with mobile apps. These are all reasons that we have invited him to speak at the next Social Media Breakfast Central Minnesota meeting.
So you can get to know James a little better I’ve taken the liberty of asking him a few questions about mobile apps. Here’s what he had to say.
James McCracken on Mobile Apps
Q: When did you first get involved with mobile apps?
James: I first got involved in mobile apps in late 2012.
Q: Why did you decide to get involved with mobile apps:
James: I’ve always been involved in technology and marketing and helping clients use technology to tell their story. I saw mobile apps as a natural step in helping clients engage and retain customers.
Q: What is the coolest mobile app you have ever used/seen?
James: The coolest app I use is Swiftkey. I’ve always typed slowly and because of Swiftkey I can now type faster with my thumbs then I’ve ever been able to with all of my fingers. A close second would have to be the sharing apps like ZipCar, Uber and AirBnB. These apps have created a whole new way to travel and in doing so created a whole new commerce platform based on sharing.
Q: What excites you most about the future of mobile apps?
James: What excites me most about mobile apps is their rate of adoption by the average person. In comparison, there still seems to be resistance when it comes to Social Media, which I don’t see at all with mobile apps. In fact just the opposite seems to be happening.
