Why HTTPS?
HTTPS provides security for both your site and a user’s personal information. It secures information, transactions, and authorizations.
Having HTTPS on your site prevents malicious attackers from seeing and altering the data that is shared between your users and your site.
Any type of data including images, html, and plain text are all susceptible to an attacker. HTTPS will prevent attacks on these types of shared information.
Don’t get marked “unsecure”
Google Chrome browsers now mark forms on non-HTTPS pages as “unsecure”. This also applies to any page in “incognito” mode. This “unsecure” label appears in the browser address bar when a user clicks in a form field or visits any page in “incognito” mode. This is something a user can easily see and it may deter them from filling out your form or navigating your site.
Why https? Not only does HTTPS prevent attacks on your website, it is also now a requirement for many new web features. Google Search Engine will also give you a small SEO boost if your site makes the switch to HTTPS.
