Kids are so passionate about things, aren’t they? Ever have a kid start over with a story a dozen times because she’s so excited she can’t get out the words? Then there are those kids who spit when they talk because it seems that saliva is all that is standing in their way from making you understand what they want to convey.
Along with passion and drive, kids seem to have endless creativity and energy. Whether they are telling a story, painting a picture, building a fort, or mastering a sport, kids do so with determination so forceful you’d think they could “will” the results into being. Isn’t that what we all want from ourselves, our work, our co-workers, our clients, and our businesses: Passion . Creativity . Energy . Determination ?!
The kids at Vivid Image are sharing their creativity and passion with the community, and we’re very proud of them. Here’s two ways they are giving back right now:
Our rotating art gallery is currently featuring the artwork of the kids of Vivid Image staff. From three years old to twelve years old, the kids have amazing creativity and humor in their art. Stop by to see their version of a abstract Picasso-like self portrait, a collage of a lion mixed with a snake, a fish comprised of painted navy beans, and more. The display will be up through the summer.
The first LemonAid stand sales of the summer begin Wednesday, June 29th at 10:00AM on the Vivid Image front lawn. In case you haven’t heard, the kids sell lemonade to raise money for charity, and over the past few years have raised nearly $1,000. They have started their first blog to highlight their efforts, tell their story, find sponsors, and share their recipient stories.
The proceeds of their first sale will go to Nic Kempfert, a son of a Vivid Image client and local resident who is battling the effects of Leukemia. Nic’s friends and family have started a “Pay It Forward” fundraising campaign which encourages people of all ages and abilities to help out others. It’s an inspiring story and effort, and we’re proud that the kids are able to contribute.
