Have you recently received an email from someone you’ve never heard of that caught your attention through a startling revelation about your website that you may not have considered until now?
Maybe something like this:
These are scary scenarios, but if these are emails out of the blue, how do they know what your goals are and what to measure?
These random cold-emails are nothing new, and they’re designed to grab your attention and make you worry. More recently we’ve seen a surge in emails mentioning ADA compliance, which again is meant to scare you. (You can read more about what ADA website compliance means here.)
At Vivid Image we eat and breathe website design, functionality, performance, and measurement. We’re on top of watching what is happening in regard to ADA compliance, HIPAA, and PCI compliance, so that we can advise our clients accordingly. If your Account Director hasn’t mentioned it to you thus far, it likely isn’t something that pertains to you, requires your attention yet, and/or we’re waiting on an industry standard to take appropriate action.
Since nothing we offer is a one-size-fits-all approach, our Account Directors are skilled at listening to your needs, focusing on your goals, and making sure to offer assistance in areas we know will help your business. We stay on top of trends, usability standards, and changing regulations as they apply to your website and marketing initiatives. You know we want you to look good, so we’ll mention it if we notice a typo or something out of place. There’s no need to worry about the suggestive statements made in these emails, but we know they can drum up ideas at the most unlikely moments. That’s why we’re always here for our clients and experienced at looking into any opportunities or concerns related to your website.
We have many services that may not have been mentioned up until now, because they didn’t previously fit with your unique business goals, budget, or customized marketing plan. However, if it is important to you, then it’s important to us. Ask questions of your Account Director and forward these types of emails to them. Your team will focus on providing you the information, services, and resources you need to further your business and help you achieve your website goals.
So, What Can You Do?
Keep in mind this is a solicitation. Receiving an email is one thing, but constant emails or persistent phone calls is something different. You can always forward anything you get to your Account Director for review. Your team at Vivid Image can look at the content of the report/audit for legitimacy. We will work with you to discuss any additional services that may help you reach your goals. You can also ignore them completely, or respond to these solicitations with something like “We have our marketing team already taking necessary action” or “We have forwarded any concerns to our marketing partner at Vivid Image who is able to address”.
