If you’ve logged on to Twitter lately or clicked on the app, you have probably noticed some notable changes to the platform design! Twitter said “Bye Bye, Birdie” and hello to a new look with an “X” as their logo.
For Twitter, it sounds like the reasoning behind the change is for “X” to become an everything app. This could mean no more character limits and already means longer video lengths for posting and more new features to come. There is already talk of potentially creating a more integrated ad experience for users.
At this time, it seems that “X” usage is higher than in recent months, even with the new announcement of Meta’s “Twitter-like” app, Threads. Does this mean you should jump on the “X” bandwagon and create an account for your business? Not necessarily. If you don’t believe you have an audience on the platform, stick where you know your audience is right now and maybe just spend some time peeking over at what’s being talked about on “X”.
What Does This Mean for You?
Besides determining what we are calling “retweets” now (re-Xing?), we just want to make sure all of your marketing is up-to-date. Meaning, out with the bird and in with the X logo on your website, and any other places you might have a quick link icon to Twitter.
