Google Maps is now incorporating portions of customer reviews into its platform! This means that if you have a business with a listing on Google Maps, your customers’ reviews will be visible to anyone who searches for your business on the map next to your location pin. This change was made in order to give users more information about businesses before they visit them.
It’s been shown that customer reviews are one of the most influential factors in whether or not someone will visit a business. Having positive reviews from customers can attract new business, while negative reviews can deter people from coming to your store. To learn more about reviews read our blog “Why Reviews Are Important.”
Since reviews are important, you’ll want to keep an eye on them and address any negative feedback by using your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business). You can do this by responding to reviews directly on your listing.

If you don’t have a Google Business Profile for your business, now is the time to create one! Having a listing will allow you to take control of your business’s online reputation and make sure that potential customers are seeing the best reviews of your business. Once you have a listing, you can start monitoring your reviews, responding to them, and publicly thanking your loyal customers.
