As Facebook rebrands and adds new features and apps, there may be some tools in the Meta Business Suite and in the Meta umbrella overall that you may not be aware of. Let’s take a look!
- Meta Rebranding
- Post Planner
- Creator Studio
- Meta Inbox
- Video Captioning
- Reels
- IG Video
Meta & Facebook Tools & Updates that Marketers Should Know About:
Meta Rebranding (Meta umbrella over Facebook & Insta): Facebook changed their corporate “Company” name to Meta. But the social network is still called Facebook. Meta is now the parent company for the Facebook suite of tools and apps, including Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. So this explains why we have the Meta Business Suite which encompasses the many tools and apps.
Post Planner (scheduling & drafting for Facebook & Insta): Facebook’s Post Planner allows users to schedule or draft posts for both Facebook and Instagram without the need for a third party social media scheduling tool. It also has lists some post ideas/holidays on the calendar, and hashtag suggestions.
Creator Studio (for bulk video uploads): This tool has not been changed or updated lately, and to be honest Facebook seems to somewhat be keeping it under cover since Post Planner was introduced. However, it is very handy for one thing especially, and that is uploading large videos or bulk video uploads to Facebook.
Inbox (Integrates Facebook & Instagram): If you have your Instagram page set up and connected to Facebook, you can view all your messages in one spot: Facebook Messenger, Facebook comments, Instagram comments, and Instagram DM’s.
Video (Captioning is so Much Better): If you used the video captioning feature on Facebook in the past, you know how cumbersome and time consuming it is. Now the auto captioning is much more accurate, and easier to correct when there are errors. It still doesn’t work with Safari (BOO!) but maybe they will fix that someday after they are done being mad at Apple for the iOS 14 update and aftermath with Facebook ads.
Reels (Getting more popular): Instagram reels have gotten more popular, and Reels have also been launched on Facebook. You probably have also noticed more Reels in your Facebook Feed even though it is people you don’t necessarily follow.
IG Videos (IGTV Merges with regular Instagram videos) – Previously, you may remember that videos could be uploaded to IGTV. Now IGTV and Instagram feed videos are all in a single format called Instagram video.
