Google is always changing something. Their latest modification is the addition of “Reviews from the web”, which adds reviews from other websites, on Google’s search results Knowledge Panel. When you search Google for a business Google displays the business’ address, phone number, hours, website and various other information. This space is referred to as a Knowledge Panel.
A Knowledge Panel should provide you with the information you need to find a location. Previously the Knowledge Panel would only show reviews provided on Google. As of last week it also includes the ability to show reviews from other websites such as Facebook, Yelp and many other review sources.
Reviews are important and help potential customers decide which businesses they want to work with. Read more about online reviews and reputation in my blog post, Online Reputation: A Love-Hate Relationship.
Keep watching and asking for those online reviews. They just earned more real estate in your online presence!
