Have you read something recently that was worrisome about your SSL Certificate and Google not playing nice? Here’s a brief explanation about what you likely read or heard, and reassurance from us that it doesn’t directly affect sites built by Vivid Image.
Google / Symantec SSL
Google recently announced that due to what Google believes is a failure on Symantec’s part to properly validate the SSL certificates they have been issuing over the recent months, Google’s Chrome browser will start issueing security warnings when users visit sites with Symantec SSLs. These security warnings can lead users to have a bad experience with a website and view that site as dangerous and untrustworthy.
How does this impact me as a Vivid Client?
The good news is that it won’t affect your site at all, as we don’t use Symantec to purchase SSLs on behalf of our clients. However, if you experience any security warnings when you visit a website, it’s always important to pay attention to those warnings and proceed with caution -especially when entering personal data.
